Tal Kantor is a Jerusalem-based artist, director, and filmmaker, a graduate and lecturer at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design.
Her work uses a hybrid visual language and a research-based poetic approach, combining painting, drawing, writing, movement, video, and animation. Through the deconstruction and reconstruction of image and narrative, her work reveals inner layers of body, memory, and consciousness. It engages with spaces where the figurative and abstract, the personal and collective, the documentary and the fantastical coexist.
Her films and works have received international recognition and awards (including an Academy Award nomination, Emmy and Ophir awards) and have been exhibited at acclaimed cultural institutions, film festivals, universities, museums, and galleries worldwide.
